During BCI’s Committee Week, nearly 50 Women in the Global Battery Industry (WGBI) members gathered and celebrated the first anniversary of the women’s affinity group. WGBI is a professional organization, founded to promote and develop the growth of women in the battery industry. The programs and activities help enhance members’ skills and experience, address challenges confronting the industry, and promote members’ career growth. With the ultimate goal of increasing the number of women employed in the battery industry, there is no doubt that, in its inaugural year with over 200 members, the WGBI is off to a great start!
WGBI Mentoring Program Launch
As a testament to its success, WGBI is pleased to present an all-new mentorship program that provides experienced professionals in the battery industry with the opportunity to be paired with individuals in the early stages of their careers. Mentors will share knowledge and insight with their mentees while serving
as role models for women in the industry. As mentees connect with and learn from seasoned professional women to grow their leadership skills, they also receive advice and direction for personal career advancement.

Mentor Meredith, at Your Service!
Club Assist’s Executive Director of Product Development and Marketing, Meredith Fordham, has been selected to serve as a mentor for this new program. A mentee-mentor relationship entails work, commitment, and follow-through on both sides to be successful. In addition to being prepared and committed, the mentor-mentee relationship must be built upon certain factors, including trust and respect, open and honest communication, flexibility, and understanding of other perspectives. Club Assist is proud to have Meredith contribute her dedication, passion, and drive for success to inspire the women of the global battery industry.
